🤯 The book I can't stop thinking about (+ BF bonus ending soon!)

Published 5 months ago • 3 min read

Hi Reader!

Have you ever read a book you just cannot stop thinking about?

Well that's me right now with A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.

Let's take a moment here to chat about a little quirk of mine that gets me into so much trouble. I am STUBBORN.

You can pretty much rely on me to do the opposite of what: someone tells me to do, someone thinks I should do, or everyone else is obsessing over.

For the most part, I'm pretty happy with the way this works out for me. 🤷‍♀️

But sometimes, I am the last to the party and realize... *ahem*...

I. was. WRONG. 😂

Because this book—heck, this whole freaking series—is a dang masterpiece. 👇

I don't even remember now why I held out on reading it for so long. It was first published in 2020, right smack in the middle of the most horrible year ever, which would been a great time for me to be so totally transported by this story.

But no, I was convinced it was "too YA" or something like that. (If that's your worry, trust me, this fantasy series is definitely appropriate for adults.)

Uh, Sue, this is fun and all, but where are you going with this?

Yes, yes, I'm getting there! Geez.

Anyway. Until a few years ago, I also resisted audiobooks at large. 🙄 And until this summer, I had zero interest in these fancy new "movie in your mind" full-cast book narrations produced by Graphic Audio.

(Thank you, C.P. Rider for turning me on to those amazing audio experiences, btw!)

🌹 But even so, the book wasn't all sunshine & roses at first... (see what I did there?)

I had to force myself to get through the first third of A Court of Thorns and Roses.

😩 It was just too dark. Too bleak. I didn't want to experience Fayre's human world.

But then, something magical happened (literally—in the story—and figuratively), and I was swept up in not just the adventure, but the transformation.

Feyre's growth arc is EPIC. And it is so so SO satisfying.

The full story takes three giant books to tell.

🌱 Sometimes personal growth takes time. And it's worth waiting for.

So next time you think you're not good enough or that you aren't where you "should" be in your life, take a breath and just sit with yourself.

Think about all the brave, kind, generous things you've done... for other people, yes, but also for yourself.

We don't give ourselves enough credit. Or enough patience.

Your story is worth telling. And it's worth telling RIGHT.

YOU are why I do what I do.

Empowering you to not just write your best stories, but be your best self while you do it is what lights me up.

Dang it, now I'm crying! 🤣

2024 is YOUR year. And it is MY year.

We are busting through our own limiting beliefs starting right now.

Next Monday, I'm offering the first of 5 daily deals during my Black Friday Deals Week.

And you are already on the waitlist (qualifying for that sweet bonus with purchase)! 🎉

These deals will be delivered via a daily email (just like this one), so Gmail users, drag this email over to your Primary tab. Or, if you use a different email service, add sue@suebrownmoore.com as a contact so the emails don't go to spam.

Because when midnight hits, the daily deal is gone. I'd hate for you to miss out on the deal and your bonus!

Okay, enough about Black Friday.

If you haven't yet read Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses, you must must must give it a go. I recommend the Graphic Audio version, even if you're not an audiobook person. It really is like a movie in your mind, and now that's the only way I want to "read" books! 🤓

Happy pre-holiday week (if you celebrate)!

<3

Hi Reader! I am a big Ansel Adams fan. 📷 There is something about the way he captured emotion in his photographs that just ✨ lights me up. But only some of his images evoke that gut-clenching, tear-inducing feeling of rapture in me. 🤔 And I wonder why that is? Even though I know he was a skilled photographer, why aren't I affected by all of his images? (Never heard of Ansel Adams? Check out some of his work here.) Sometimes the story we're trying to tell is not the one that comes out on...

Hi Reader! Have you ever run from a dinosaur? No? Well, if you're curious, it looks like this... (Yes, that really is me flailing away from a T-Rex.) As creatives, we can find inspiration anywhere, and thinking back on my family trip to Hawaii made me realize that I'm real damn good at empowering my own worst fears. Looking at that video now is fun. I think about how well it turned out, how comical my arm-waving looks. But then I remember my mindset in the moment, when the tour guide told us...
